Arabian Dance Theatre – A New World Record.

Shafeek Ibrahim and Tara Oakley became new world record holders on Thursday 19th January 2012. Completeing the title- Most Sufi Whirls in One Hour. Shafeek managed to complete 2900 rotations and Tara 2100 rotatations which has put them in the Guiness Book of World Records.

World Record Attempt

Arabian Dance Theatre members Shafeek Ibrahim and Tara Oakley will be making a special
World Record Attempt to promote awareness of Arabic dance, art and music.

Sufi Whirling World Record for Man and Woman

Both shafeek and Tara will be whirling for a duration of one hour to fulfil the record.

With Special coverage from BBC Arabic
and Talal Omar as Adjudications Manager from Guinness World Records.
Accompanied by Live musicians Ali El Minyawi and Ali Kirdar

Arabian Dance Theatre were asked to promote holidays to the Emirates for Virgin Holidays with traditional Khaleeji costume and dance.

New show – Under The Sun, a huge hit

Arabian Dance Theatre’s new show – Under The Sun which launched in October was a sell out success in both London and Leeds. It made made various Arabic media including BBC Arabic, Al Alamia TV and Al Aribiya.
